Restoring a Piece of Ararat
Some buildings carry more than walls and windows. They carry a town’s memory. 118 Barkly Street, Ararat is one of them. This project was stripped back to its original bones and rebuilt with respect for what came before. The result is something Ararat can be proud of again. The brief was a full restoration: the downstairs retail spaces and shopfront refurbished, the upstairs apartment comprehensively overhauled, and the original balcony reinstated to its former glory. What makes this project unique is who commissioned it. The client is Adam Haddow, a respected architect and principal at Sydney-based practice SJB. ROC worked closely with Adam and SJB throughout, bringing their vision to life with the care and precision the building deserved. Working on a heritage project of your own? Get in touch.
